Dharavi Premier League Season 3 Winner: Dharavi Eleven Clinch Title with Last-Ball Six

Mumbai: The third season of the Dharavi Premier League (DPL) concluded on Saturday, with Dharavi Eleven securing a dramatic victory by hitting a six on the final ball. The two-day tournament at the Dharavi District Sports Club ended on a high note, featuring thrilling cricket, packed stands, and vibrant community participation.

Memorable Victory for Dharavi Eleven

A total of 14 teams and over 210 players participated in the tournament. Enthusiastic crowds from Dharavi gathered in large numbers to witness the matches. After several exciting games, the final turned into a nail-biting contest.

Dharavi Eleven won the toss and chose to field first, delivering a disciplined bowling performance to restrict SSD Sports to just 44/5. The chase remained tense until the very last ball.

With 7 runs needed off the final delivery, the match took a dramatic turn. After a wide ball, a six was struck, sealing a memorable victory for Dharavi Eleven and sending the crowd into celebration.

Wasim Khan Shines as Tournament’s Best Player

Wasim Khan from Killer Boys team was named the best player of the tournament. His outstanding all-round performance earned him the Best Batter, Best Bowler, and Player of the Series awards.

Community Pride and Support

Speaking at the closing ceremony, local community leader Manda Bhave said,
“Dharavi’s youth often play in narrow lanes, but organizing a tournament of this scale is truly remarkable. It provides them with a platform to showcase their talent and fills the entire community with pride.”

Organized by Navbharat Mega Developers Private Limited, the Dharavi Premier League is emerging as a key initiative that combines sports with social impact. The company continues to support youth engagement through sports, health initiatives, and community programs.

Prize Distribution

The champion team, Dharavi Eleven, received a trophy along with a cash prize of ₹1 lakh. Runner-up SSD Sports was awarded a trophy and ₹50,000. Several “Man of the Match” awards were also presented during the tournament to recognize individual excellence.

Simran Shaikh: Pride of Dharavi

An inspiring example of Dharavi’s talent is Simran Shaikh, who has risen from the community to represent Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League. Her journey continues to inspire many young players.
