Young Hyderabad Doctor Dies by Suicide After Family Dispute Over Pet Adoption

A 23-year-old doctor in Hyderabad allegedly died by suicide following repeated disagreements with her family over her wish to adopt a pet cat, according to a report. The incident occurred in the Alwal area of the city on Friday evening, officials said.

The deceased, identified as T Princy, also known as Shreshtha, had been living with her mother and grandmother. A few weeks prior to the incident, she had brought a cat home, which reportedly became a source of tension within the household. Her family objected to keeping the pet, citing concerns after she began experiencing persistent cold and cough symptoms. This led to frequent arguments between her and her family members.

On the day of the incident, Princy was alone at home while her mother and grandmother had stepped out for work. Upon returning, they found her hanging from a ceiling fan in her room. Authorities were informed, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is underway.

Police officials indicated that the dispute over the pet cat had been ongoing and was a significant factor contributing to the distress within the household. No further details regarding a suicide note or additional causes have been disclosed so far.

The case highlights the tragic consequences that can arise from unresolved domestic conflicts. While the precise reasons behind the incident are still being examined, initial findings suggest that the disagreement over the pet adoption had escalated into a serious and persistent issue within the family.

Authorities continue to investigate the matter to establish a clearer understanding of the events leading up to the incident.
