AAP MLA And Narmada Police Engage In A Heated Argument In Public

AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava Has Made Serious Allegations Against Narmada Police

Chaitar Vasava, MLA of Dediyapada, reached the Narmada District Police Office with his supporters. He made allegations against the Narmada Police and told them to collect fines from bootleggers rather than small people. The ruckus started when the police stopped the AAP MLA’s supporters on the road.

Chaitar Vasava added that there are two categories in the police. One, who work properly on a government salary, and the other, who work for the BJP on a government salary. He has made serious allegations against the Narmada Police. He alleged that the police take instalments from the bootleggers and release them. They take money for the liquor, and the price is also fixed.

A scuffle took place when the police stopped Chaitar from reaching to the Rajpipla SP office. There, Chaitar told Kevadia DySP Sanjay Sharma to talk with his finger down, and that he is an MLA. Chaitar alleged that recently, the vehicles which were caught stealing soil from the Umarva (Joshi) village were released after taking money. He reached to the office of the Superintendent of Police, and quarelled with the police. He asked them why they were catching the poor bike riders instead of the bootleggers.

After that, a closed-door meeting took place between the Narmada district police chief and Chaitar Vasava and his supporters. In the meeting, SP Narmada Prashant Shumbe assured them that such a thing would not happen again.

When the media spoke to him, he said that they only penalize those who do not wear helmets. The reason being that 48 fatalities have taken place of two-wheeler drivers in Dediyapada and Sagbara areas. He also added that both these areas are situated near the Maharashtra border, due to which many people from Maharashtra drive in a drunken state in those areas. Thus, fines have to be collected.

Chaitar Vasava, while arguing with the police, remarked that when VIPs visit Kevadia, the police provides protection to them, whereas they harass the poor people. Addressing the police, he said that it is their duty to protect law and order, and not to intimidate. Peace, security, and safety is their responsibility.
