Trump Says Iran War May End Soon, Warns Tehran Over Oil Supply Disruption

Washington: US President Donald Trump suggested that the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran may conclude sooner than expected, while also warning Tehran of severe consequences if global oil supplies are disrupted.

Donald Trump made the remarks while addressing Republican lawmakers at his golf club near Miami. He said the United States had undertaken what he described as a limited operation in the Middle East and indicated that the campaign could remain short in duration. Trump also stated that Washington was close to achieving its objective of destroying Iran’s stockpile of ballistic missiles.

However, hours later, the US President issued a strong warning on social media, saying Iran would face an overwhelming military response if it attempted to halt the flow of oil through the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz. The narrow waterway is a major route for global energy shipments, and any disruption could affect international oil markets.

The warning came amid rising tensions in the region. The conflict intensified after Israel launched strikes on Iranian cities including Isfahan and Tehran, targeting what it described as military infrastructure linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and other locations in the region.

Meanwhile, Iran recently appointed Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new supreme leader following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei. The leadership change and escalating hostilities have heightened geopolitical uncertainty, particularly in global energy markets.

In response to Trump’s remarks, Iranian officials said Tehran — not Washington — would decide when the war ends. The fighting has already affected global energy supply routes, triggered oil price fluctuations, and forced civilians in several regions to seek shelter as attacks continue.

The report, noted that the conflict has also sparked diplomatic discussions, including a phone conversation between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin about potential political and diplomatic solutions to the crisis.
