Salman Khan Seeks Bollywood Backing as Sikandar Falters

Salman Khan has voiced frustration over the Bollywood industry’s silence on his latest film, Sikandar, released March 30, 2025. In a interview, the superstar admitted needing support from peers, a rare admission for the typically self-assured actor. Despite his history of promoting others, Khan noted, “They might think I don’t need it, but everyone does,” sparking buzz about his vulnerability.
Directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar Khan’s traditional Eid offering has underperformed with mixed reviews and a sluggish box office. A ₹10 crore haul on its fourth day, a steep decline for a Salman-led film. Piracy woes, with thousands of illegal links removed via Mumbai Police’s Cyber Cell, have further dented its prospects.

Critics have been unkind, giving it 2 out of 5 stars, citing a weak plot despite Khan’s action appeal. While his chemistry with Rashmika Mandanna has charmed fans, it hasn’t boosted ticket sales. Khan remains hopeful, urging audiences to support Sikandar alongside releases like Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan and Sunny Deol’s Jaat. His call for solidarity marks a critical juncture for the Bollywood titan.
