Mumbai Megablock : Services Affected On All Three Lines, Check Details Here-

Mumbai’s bustling suburban rail network is set for significant interruptions on Sunday, February 22, 2026, as Central Railway and Western Railway implement their regular weekend maintenance schedules. Central Railway refers to its engineering possession as a Mega Block, while Western Railway terms its equivalent a Jumbo Block. These periodic blocks, typically held on Sundays, allow for critical upkeep of tracks, signaling systems, overhead equipment, and other infrastructure to ensure long-term safety and reliability.
On the Central Line, a Mega Block will affect the slow lines between Mulund and Thane from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM in both up and down directions. Up slow services departing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) from 10:04 hrs to 15:09 hrs will be diverted to the fast line between Mulund and Thane, halting at Thane but reaching destinations about 10 minutes late. Similarly, up slow trains from Kalyan between 10:36 hrs and 15:24 hrs will divert to the fast line between Thane and Mulund, arriving at Mulund roughly 10 minutes behind schedule. Overall, up and down slow services to and from CSMT between 11:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs are expected to experience delays of around 10 minutes.
The Harbour Line will see a Mega Block between Vashi and Panvel (excluding the Port Line) from 11:05 AM to 4:05 PM on up and down lines. Up services from Panvel to CSMT departing between 10:33 hrs and 15:49 hrs, along with down services from CSMT to Belapur/Panvel departing between 09:45 hrs and 15:12 hrs, will be cancelled. Special local trains will operate on the CSMT–Vashi section to mitigate some impact.

On the Trans-Harbour Line, services between Panvel and Thane face a block, with up trains from Panvel to Thane (11:02 hrs to 15:53 hrs) and down trains from Thane to Panvel (10:01 hrs to 15:20 hrs) cancelled. Operations will continue only between Thane and Vashi/Nerul during this window.
No Mega Block has been announced yet for the Uran Line.
Over on the Western Line, no daytime block is scheduled for Sunday, February 22. However, a night Jumbo Block occurred on the intervening Saturday/Sunday (21st/22nd) between Vasai Road and Virar from 00:15 hrs to 04:15 hrs for track, signaling, and overhead maintenance, with slow trains diverted to fast lines. An additional block took place between Borivali and Dahisar from 02:10 hrs to 04:10 hrs for launching a new Foot Over Bridge girder, potentially causing some cancellations or regulations. Certain long-distance trains, such as the Barauni–Bandra Terminus Avadh Express and others, faced delays or regulations in affected sections.
Central Railway also noted separate special traffic and power blocks related to the Dedicated Freight Corridor project at Kharbao (from February 21 afternoon to February 22 morning), leading to cancellations of specific MEMU trains and delays of 25–30 minutes for mail/express services.
Railway authorities from both zones emphasize that these blocks are vital for infrastructure maintenance and passenger safety. Commuters are advised to plan travel accordingly, check updates via official sources or apps, and allow extra time for journeys.
