February 2026 Bank Holidays: Here’s What Customers Should Know

Mumbai : Every year the reserve bank of india issues a bank holiday list that includes weekly offs, national holidays, and state -specific festivals. 

In the month of February 2026, the banks will remain closed for 6 days after February 15. However, apart from the physical service the online banking services will be functional. 

List Of Bank Holidays After 15 February 2026-

  • February 18 (Wednesday) – Losar (State holiday in Sikkim)
  • February 19 (Thursday)- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti (State Holiday in Maharashtra)
  • February 20 (Friday) – Statehood Day (Holiday in Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh)
  • February 22 (Sunday) – Weekly holiday
  • February 28 (Fourth Saturday) – Bank closed

On the first, third and fifth Saturdays banks remain open. Holidays will be applicable only as per the state’s calendar and will not apply to the whole nation. 

Know The Types of RBI Holidays 

In three categories RBI holidays are divided. 

  • Under the Negotiable Instruments Act – During this time cheque clearing and branch services get affected. 
  • Annual Closing of Accounts- On April 1 when financial year closing takes place. 
  • RTGS Holiday- RTGS transactions at branch level do not take place.

What Should Customers Do ? 

Even in the absence of physical banking services, the digital banking services will help you to provide easy transactions via UPI, NEFT, IMPS, internet banking, mobile banking, net banking and ATM facility that works round the clock. 

Hence, customers can avail online banking services without any trouble. However, cheque clearing and branch related activities may get affected. So, it is better to clear all your important banking work in advance.
