At the age of 35, Jos Charles Buttler has set the world record for the highest catch ever taken. A ball was released from a drone at a height of 122 metres—approximately the height of a 40-storey building—and Buttler managed to catch it cleanly. With this, his name has been etched into the Guinness World Records. This record surpasses all previous highest-catch attempts.

As the ball was dropped from 122 metres above, Buttler showed immense concentration and perfect timing, taking the catch safely into his gloves.

Only 21 Runs at Wankhede
Buttler has struggled in the ongoing World Cup. On Wednesday, against the West Indies at Wankhede Stadium, he scored 21 runs off 14 balls, but England went on to lose the match by 30 runs.
Earlier, on 8 February, Buttler scored 26 runs off 17 balls against Nepal, with England managing a narrow four-run victory.

According to international umpire Richard Kettleborough, the event was held recently in Cape Town, where Buttler successfully caught the ball dropped from 122 metres after considerable effort.

Buttler broke the previous world record set in 2021 by Australian wicketkeeper Timothy Shannon Jabasialan, who had taken a catch from a height of 119.86 metres. Buttler’s 122-metre catch now stands as the new benchmark.
