92 Militants Killed In Balochistan As Pakistan Reports 15 Security Personnel Dead

Islamabad : Pakistan’s military reported on Saturday that its forces have killed 92 militants while responding to a string of coordinated attacks across the restive southwestern province of Balochistan, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The clashes also resulted in the deaths of 15 security personnel during the ensuing engagements, ANI reported via The Express Tribune.

The ISPR said assailants struck multiple locations in the province including Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni targeting both civilian areas and security installations in what the military described as an attempt to disrupt daily life and development activities.

Military officials added that 18 civilians, including women, children and elderly individuals, were among those killed in attacks in Gwadar and Kharan districts. In response, security forces and law enforcement units launched extensive clearance operations, during which the militants, three of whom were suicide attackers, were killed. According to ISPR, operations remain ongoing and authorities will hold those responsible to account.

The ISPR also noted that on Friday security forces killed 41 militants in separate operations in Panjgur and Harnai, bringing the total number of militants killed in Balochistan over the past two days to 133. Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said some planned attacks were foiled by timely action from police and the Frontier Corps, ANI reported.

The assaults occur amid a long-running insurgency in Pakistan’s largest province, where separatist and militant groups have repeatedly clashed with security forces in recent years.
