Shiv Sena (UBT) Files Police Complaint Over Mysterious Disappearance of Two Kalyan Corporators

Mumbai: The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has formally approached the police after two of its elected corporators from Kalyan Municipal Corporation went missing under mysterious circumstances.
According to party leaders, corporators Vasant Patil and Jyoti Bhoir have been untraceable for several days. Both leaders represent the Shiv Sena (UBT) in the civic body and have been actively involved in local political activities.
Senior Shiv Sena (UBT) functionary and Kalyan-Dombivli Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde’s former close aide — Milind Ambekar — lodged a formal missing persons complaint at the Kalyan City police station late on Wednesday night.
Party sources said the corporators were last seen on Sunday. Their mobile phones have been switched off since then and all attempts to contact them have failed. Family members have also reportedly expressed serious concern over the sudden disappearance of the two elected representatives.
Shiv Sena (UBT) district president Mahesh Gaikwad strongly alleged that the prolonged absence of both corporators “cannot be considered a normal or natural absence”. He demanded immediate and thorough investigation by the police into the matter.

The party has particularly sought answers regarding the following questions:
- Where exactly are the two corporators presently located?
- Are they safe and under any kind of pressure or threat?
- Has any kind of foul play taken place?
Speaking to reporters after filing the complaint, Milind Ambekar stated that the party was extremely worried about the safety of its corporators. He appealed to the Kalyan police to treat the matter with utmost seriousness and conduct extensive search operations without delay.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders have also indicated that they will closely monitor the progress of the police investigation. They have warned that if the authorities fail to make quick and meaningful headway in the case, the party will be compelled to take the matter to higher police authorities as well as to the state government.
The disappearance of two sitting corporators has created considerable tension in the political circles of Kalyan and adjoining areas. Many local political workers from different parties are keenly watching how quickly and effectively the police are able to trace the missing corporators.
