Uttarayan In Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah And CM Bhupendra Patel Fly Kites To Celebrate Festival

Ahmedabad: Uttarayan is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the state today. On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reached among kite enthusiasts in Ahmedabad to enjoy the festival. With a confluence of devotion, tradition and kite flying, both leaders engaged directly with the people.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah celebrated Uttarayan in his hometown Ahmedabad with his family, as he does every year. The day began with Amit Shah visiting Lord Jagannath for darshan. He performed ritualistic worship at the temple and fed Gau Mata (cow) with fodder to receive blessings. When he arrived at a terrace in the Naranpura area to fly kites, people from surrounding terraces welcomed him with shouts of ‘O… Amitkaka…’.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel celebrated Uttarayan in the traditional lanes of Ahmedabad’s historic Dariyapur area. He flew kites from a terrace in Vadigam area of Dariyapur along with local residents, boosting people’s enthusiasm. Residents of the lanes enthusiastically welcomed the Chief Minister. The CM extended Makar Sankranti greetings to all citizens and prayed for peace and prosperity in the state. On this occasion, MP Dinesh Makwana, MLA Kaushik Jain and other political leaders also joined him.
