Ahmedabad’s Palladium Mall Sees Christmas Decor Vandalism: Bhagwa Sena Workers Topple Tree, Several Detained By Police

Ahmedabad: Tensions flared at Palladium Mall in Ahmedabad’s Thaltej area on Saturday following protests against Christmas and New Year’s Eve decorations. Members of Bhagwa Sena staged a demonstration inside the mall and vandalized the Christmas tree display.
Protesters demand removal of festive installations
According to police sources, Bhagwa Sena activists objected to the Christmas tree erected within the mall premises. The demonstrators claimed that such displays hurt their religious sentiments. To prevent further escalation, mall management removed the decorations during the ongoing protest.
Police detain activists following disturbance
A large police contingent rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident. Authorities detained several Bhagwa Sena workers for disrupting public order. The detained individuals were taken to Vastrapur Police Station for further questioning.
A senior police official stated, “The situation has been brought under immediate control and no untoward incident has occurred. Adequate police deployment has been stationed at the mall and the matter has been resolved peacefully.”
Police are currently investigating the entire episode and assessing whether legal action should be initiated in connection with the demonstration. The mall and surrounding areas currently remain peaceful.
