Fisherman Missing 15 Nautical Miles Off Jafarabad Coast; Search Operation Launched
A search operation is underway for a young fisherman reported missing at sea off the coast of Jafarabad in Amreli district. The sailor, identified as Jaswantbhai Ramjibhai Baraiya, reportedly disappeared on Saturday while aboard the fishing vessel ‘Anand Sagar,’ approximately 15 nautical miles from the shore.
According to local sources, the incident occurred while the boat was engaged in routine fishing operations. The unexplained disappearance has triggered a wave of anxiety within the local fishing community, highlighting the persistent risks and fears faced by the families of those who work at sea.
In response to the crisis, the president of the Fisherman Boat Association has formally alerted the Jafarabad Marine Police and the Pipavav Coast Guard to coordinate rescue efforts. Messages have also been broadcast to other fishing vessels operating in the vicinity, urging them to remain vigilant and assist in locating the missing youth.
