PM Modi Visits LK Advani on His Birthday, Praises His Legacy and Vision

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Bharat Ratna awardee Lal Krishna Advani at his residence in New Delhi to personally convey birthday wishes, expressing his admiration for Advani’s lifelong contributions to India’s political and cultural landscape.
Taking to social media platform X, the Prime Minister shared his greetings, writing that Advani’s life exemplifies integrity, intellect, and selfless service to the nation. “Greetings to Shri LK Advani Ji on his birthday. A statesman blessed with towering vision and intellect, Advani Ji’s life has been dedicated to strengthening India’s progress. His contributions have left an indelible mark on our democratic and cultural landscape. May he be blessed with good health and a long life,” Modi wrote.
Top Leaders Extend Their Wishes
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Advani’s legacy on X, describing him as an inspiration for millions of BJP workers. “As a founder member and former national president of the BJP, ‘Bharat Ratna’ LK Advani Ji has dedicated his entire life to the nation with utmost selflessness. From strengthening the party’s grassroots structure to bolstering internal security as Home Minister, his contributions are unparalleled. His leadership during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement awakened a deep national consciousness,” Shah said.
Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu also visited Advani at his Delhi residence to convey his greetings. Calling him a “towering figure in Indian politics” and “a personal father figure,” Naidu highlighted Advani’s qualities of discipline, dedication, and patriotism. “Shri Advani Garu’s unwavering resolve is exemplary for today’s youth. I pray for his enduring health,” he said.
A Life Steeped in Service
Born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi, Lal Krishna Advani’s early years were deeply influenced by the Partition era. Educated at St. Patrick’s School in Karachi and later at Bombay Law College, Advani began his career in journalism as an assistant editor for the weekly Organiser before fully dedicating himself to politics.
Over the decades, Advani became one of India’s most respected political thinkers, known for shaping the BJP’s ideological foundation and strengthening its organizational framework. His legacy continues to resonate through the nation’s political and cultural discourse.
