The White House released a photo showing Trump keenly examining a wooden box containing rare earth minerals presented by Munir as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif looked on from the sidelines. It came as a Pakistani military engineering and construction firm, Frontier Works Organisation, and US Strategic Metals signed an MoU to explore strategic minerals jointly in Pakistan for use in defence and technology.

Questioning Munir’s authority in leading such initiatives, Khan said, In what capacity? Under which law? This is dictatorship. I am sorry to say this is not democracy… Is this not contempt of Parliament? He emphasised that an Army chief carrying out diplomatic outreach with foreign leaders was nothing but a mockery of the Constitution and a “contempt of Parliament”.
