Chaos at Navratri Event in Ahmedabad: Anti-Social Elements Storm Bopal Party Plot, Organiser Attacked
Around 20 men created ruckus after being denied entry without tickets; brutal assault on organiser, 5 arrested

Ahmedabad: Navratri celebrations across Gujarat are in full swing, with traditional garba events being held at multiple venues in Ahmedabad. However, festivities at a city party plot took a violent turn when a group of miscreants sparked chaos after being denied entry without tickets, forcing organisers to halt the event midway.
According to a police complaint filed by Hiteshsinh Rajput of Sachana village in Viramgam, the incident occurred on Friday night at the Basera Party Plot near Vakal Saheb Bridge in Bopal, where his cousin Kuldeepsinh had organised a Navratri garba. Rajput stated that while he was returning after playing garba, a few men attempted to jump the compound wall to enter without tickets. When security staff stopped them, the intruders grew furious and later returned with a group of around 20 from Hebatpur.
The mob forcefully barged into the venue, disrupting the ongoing garba. Panic spread among participants as they fled the spot, while the miscreants vandalised the premises. During the chaos, the complainant Hiteshsinh was brutally attacked, and two others sustained serious injuries.
Those named in the complaint include Suraj Bharwad, Dhiren Bharwad, Pratham Bharwad, Ajay Bharwad, and Mehul Bharwad, who allegedly led the assault and spread terror in the venue.
Sarkhej Police immediately registered a case, including charges of attempted murder, against the accused. Five men, including Suraj Bharwad, have been arrested so far, while efforts are underway to trace others involved.
This violent incident has raised major concerns over security at Navratri venues, prompting police officials to step up precautionary measures citywide.
