Cancel The Exam: Junior Clerk Candidates Demand Scrapping Test After Paper Leak Allegation

What happened

Tension flared at Little Bird School in Isanpur on Saturday during the Junior Clerk (Class-3) recruitment test held by Gujarat’s four agricultural universities Anand, Junagadh, Navsari, and Sardarkrushinagar-Dahod as candidates alleged serious irregularities, including a paper leak and breach of exam protocols.

Allegations by candidates

Aspirants said OMR sheets and question papers were handed out well past the scheduled time, with one candidate stating the OMR was due between 1:30 pm and 1:45 pm but was given only at 2:05 pm, raising concerns about procedural lapses. Another candidate alleged supervisors moved around with unsealed papers outside classrooms and cited a shortage of question papers when confronted, deepening suspicions of mismanagement.

Protest at the centre

Frustrated over delays and alleged misconduct, candidates staged a protest inside the venue, shouting slogans and demanding that the examination be cancelled, which led to a tense situation at the centre, according to those present.

Demand for probe

Aspirants have sought an immediate inquiry and accountability from the conducting universities; however, no formal statement had been issued by the agricultural universities at the time the candidates raised these concerns, as per the account shared by participants.

Police response

Responding to a Gujarat Samachar Digital report on social media, Ahmedabad Police said commotion at the Little Bird School (Narol) centre stemmed from complaints about an OMR sheet shortage, adding that university officials have ordered an immediate inquiry and informed candidates about the steps being taken at the school.
