Woman Killed in Dumper Crash on Rajkot – Ahmedabad Highway; Second Fatal Incident in a Week Sparks Public Anger

Rajkot: A woman has died following a severe collision involving a recklessly driven dumper on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway, once again highlighting the persistent danger posed by heavy vehicles in the region. The incident has intensified public concern over what many perceive as a lack of control over dumper drivers by traffic authorities.

According to preliminary information, the victim, identified as 42-year-old Shitalben Bhojak, was traveling with her family to Chotila for a religious visit when their car was struck by a speeding dumper. The impact was so severe that Bhojak died instantly at the scene. Other family members in the car sustained various injuries.

The horrific nature of the accident drew large crowds to the location. The dumper driver abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the crash.

This latest tragedy has reignited debate among citizens about road safety and the regulation of large commercial vehicles. There are growing calls for police to take stricter legal action against negligent drivers and enforce traffic laws more rigorously to prevent further loss of innocent lives.

A Disturbing Pattern

This incident is the second fatal accident involving a dumper in Rajkot in just one week.

On July 16, a college student named Juhi Nadiyapara was killed in a heart-wrenching accident near Hanuman Madhi Chowk. Nadiyapara was on her way to college with a friend and had been dropped off by her father only moments before. A speeding dumper (bearing license plate GJ.36.T.0197) struck her, causing fatal injuries at the scene.
