Sonu Nigam Collaborates With Surat’s Viral Sensation Raju Kalakar, Netizens Call it ‘Biggest Collab Of 2025’
Raju Kalakar, whose real name is Raju Bhatt, is a puppeteer from Surat.

In a moment that has captivated music lovers and internet users alike, legendary playback singer Sonu Nigam has teamed up with viral street performer Raju Kalakar for a unique musical collaboration. The video, shared by T-Series, features the duo performing Nigam’s hit track “Dil Pe Chalai Churiya,” with Sonu providing vocals and Raju accompanying him using his signature stone-tapping rhythm.
The post has already garnered 5.7 million views and over 510,000 likes, with the caption teasing, “Stay tuned for a surprise coming on Monday at 11 am.” The announcement has sparked speculation about a potential full-length collaboration between the two artists.
Raju Kalakar, whose real name is Raju Bhatt, is a puppeteer from the Rander area of Surat, Gujarat. He gained widespread attention earlier this year after a video of him singing and rhythmically tapping two broken stones went viral. The raw emotion of his performance and the unconventional use of stones as percussion struck a chord with audiences nationwide. That clip, recorded by his friend Rajkali, has since crossed 146 million views on social media.
In the newly released T-Series video, Sonu and Raju are seen sharing an organic, joyful performance. As Raju taps along with his makeshift instrument, Sonu sings the emotional song, creating a moment that fans have described as both surreal and heartwarming. The video concludes with a warm embrace between the two, and Sonu expressing his appreciation with a heartfelt “Thank you” to Raju. A message follows on screen: “Stay tuned for a surprise coming on Monday at 11 am.”
The response online has been overwhelmingly positive. Music producer Yashraj Mukhate commented, “I absolutely love the internet,” while others added, “This is why I pay my Internet bill,” and “When the trend meets the trendsetter.” One fan called it the “Biggest collab of this year. 2025 is an unexpected year!” YouTube India also reacted, posting, “When the trend meets the trendsetter.”
Raju, who typically earns his living performing puppet shows and playing traditional instruments like the dhol, never expected a simple performance with broken stones to change the course of his life. His Instagram account, @RajuKalakar, now has more than 192,000 followers, a testament to his growing influence and reach.
As anticipation builds for the promised announcement on Monday, fans are eagerly awaiting what comes next from this unlikely but widely celebrated collaboration.
