BRTS Bus Collides With Auto-Rickshaw In Ahmedabad, Accident Leaves 5 Seriously Injured

Ahmedabad: An accident involving a BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System) bus in Ahmedabad’s Rakhial area late last night left five people seriously injured. The incident occurred near the Baliyakaka crossroads when the bus driver reportedly lost control of the steering wheel.

According to initial reports, the out-of-control bus collided head-on with an approaching auto-rickshaw and then crashed onto the road divider. The impact was severe, and five individuals sustained major injuries. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported all the injured to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

A crowd gathered at the accident site following the crash, and local police were notified. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. One key question being examined is whether the bus driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time, as similar past incidents involving intoxicated BRTS or AMTS drivers have been reported.

While, fortunately, no lives were lost in this particular accident, it adds to the growing list of road mishaps involving BRTS buses in Gujarat. Just a day earlier, a major tragedy unfolded when the collapse of the Gambhira Bridge claimed ten lives. As concerns over road safety escalate, incidents like these highlight the urgent need for stricter oversight and improved driver accountability.
