Bollywood Singer Yasser Desai Faces Legal Trouble for Dangerous Stunt on Bandra-Worli Sea Link

Mumbai — The Bandra police have filed a case against Bollywood singer-songwriter Yasser Desai, aged 35, and two associates for performing a hazardous stunt on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL) in Mumbai. The incident, captured on CCTV footage, showed Desai standing precariously on the bridge’s edge with his arms outstretched, prompting authorities to take action.

According to police reports, the event occurred at 6 a.m. on Tuesday when Desai and his companions arrived at the sea link. Social media posts alerted law enforcement, who reviewed the BWSL surveillance footage to confirm that Desai had stopped his vehicle on the bridge, climbed onto the railing, and posed while his associates recorded the act. The stunt, deemed life-threatening, has led to charges under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for endangering public safety, along with provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The police are investigating whether the stunt was part of a music video project, but the motive remains unclear. Desai and his associates have not been arrested as authorities continue their search. The Free Press Journal reported that the viral video sparked widespread concern, with some speculating about Desai’s mental health, while others criticized the act as reckless. Furkan Shaikh, an X user, posted about the incident, urging Mumbai Police to intervene and highlighting the potential danger to public order.
