Australia Retain Frank Worrell Trophy with Series Win Over West Indies

Saint George’s (Grenada): Australia defeated West Indies by 133 runs in the second Test on Sunday, sealing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and successfully retaining the Frank Worrell Trophy, a symbol of their dominance since 1995.
Chasing a target of 277 runs on the fourth day, the West Indies collapsed for just 143. Under the captaincy of Roston Chase, not a single Caribbean batter managed a half-century as the hosts fell well short of the mark.
Australia’s bowlers delivered a relentless performance:
Mitchell Starc claimed 3 wickets
Nathan Lyon also picked up 3
Josh Hazlewood contributed with 2 more
Earlier, Australia had posted 286 runs in their first innings, while the West Indies replied with 253. Despite a spirited four-wicket haul from Shamar Joseph in the second innings, Steve Smith anchored the Australians with a solid 71, helping them reach 243 and set a challenging 277-run target.
Wicketkeeper Alex Carey was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance. He scored 63 in the first innings, added 30 in the second, and was sharp behind the stumps with a total of four dismissals.
Australia had already won the first Test by 159 runs, and with this dominant second victory, they not only secured the series but extended their 30-year stronghold on the Frank Worrell Trophy.
