Deceased Was Being Blackmailed By Her Lover Over Their Intimate Video

A shocking incident has taken place in the Chandkheda locality of Ahmedabad. A love affair ended tragically with a suicide, as a woman ended her life over allegedly being blackmailed by her lover over a video.
Apparently, a woman was in relationship with a man named Mohit alias Mitraj Makwana. Mohit had allegedly recorded a video, outside of the knowledge of the deceased, of the intimate moments that took place between the deceased and him. Mohit’s friend, Hardik Rabari, took the video from Mohit’s phone, and called up the woman, stating that a video of hers was with him.
He called the woman near Hillock Hotel near Vaishnodevi Circle. The woman reached there along with her friend and her husband. Hardik showed her the video and told her that he had taken the video from Mohit’s phone; he then left from there.
The woman panicked regarding the video, and told Mohit to delete it. However, Mohit refused, and as a result, the woman informed the police. The police had ordered Mohit to delete the video. The video was deleted and for some time, everything was normal.
Although the video had been deleted, the woman was in constant fear that the video might still be present in Hardik’s phone or somewhere else. She was afraid of the possibility that the video might go viral. Having such disturbing thoughts, the woman committed suicide by jumping from the 14th floor of a high-rise building in Chandkheda.

Chandkheda Police, while investigating the matter, found that over the issue of the video, the woman had given Rs 6,000 to Mohit. In addition, she had also mortgaged her gold chain. Even after the video had been deleted at the Sola Police Station, the accused had been blackmailing the deceased.
The police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against Mohit alias Mitraj Makwana, and his friend Hardik Rabari. Mohit has been arrested, whereas Hardik is absconding. Search is on for Hardik. Further investigations are going on.
