Teacher Cuts Student’s Hair Over Braid Rule In Kheda, Parents Demand Legal Action

Student Had Not Come In Braids As Per The Rule

A shameful case has surfaced in Kheda, where a teacher cut a student’s hair because the latter did not follow the rules of the school. The incident occurred in a girls’ school in Mahudha. Apparently, there was a rule in the school to come in two braids. A girl did not follow the rule. The teacher, enraged by this, cut the hair of the girl in the form of punishment.

The girl studies in 8th standard. Since she did not follow the rule, the teacher got angry and cut her hair with scissors in front of other students of the class. The girl said that she did not come to the school in two braids, and thus, her teacher cut her hair. Moreover, she also threatened her not to come to the new school, or else she would put a knife on her throat. She did not even let her eat.

As soon as the parents came to know about this incident, they gathered outside the school and protested against the teacher’s behavior. The parents have alleged that teachers insult the students in the name of rules.

On the other hand, the principal of the school said that he was not present at the time of the incident and does not know anything about it, showing no interest in the matter. Meanwhile, the accused teacher admitted cutting the girl’s hair and said that she cut the girl’s hair, and from now on they would not tell the girl to come like that again. The parents are demanding legal action against the teacher.

The incident has reached the doors of the Education Department. The department has assured of taking strict action against the teacher and providing justice to the girl. Investigations in the matter have been started by the Education Department. This incident sparks concern about the safety of students, and prompts for proper behavior of teachers as authorities in schools.
