Shocking Pune Assault: Man Posing as Delivery Agent Attacks Woman in Her Home

A chilling incident unfolded in Pune’s Kondhwa neighborhood on Wednesday evening when a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped in her apartment by an unidentified man, as reported by PTI. The assailant, posing as a courier delivery agent, gained access to the victim’s home in a residential society around 7:30 p.m. The woman was alone at the time, as her brother, with whom she shares the flat, was away for work. This brazen attack has raised concerns about safety in residential areas and the tactics used by perpetrators to exploit trust.

According to a senior official from the Kondhwa police station, the suspect knocked on the woman’s door under the pretense of delivering a package, which allowed him to enter the apartment. Once inside, he allegedly assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene. The police have launched a thorough investigation, registering a case under relevant sections of the law. Authorities are now working to piece together evidence, including statements from the victim and potential witnesses, to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.
