Surendranagar Hit-And-Run: Drunk Driver Injures 3, Arrested

Surendranagar: A horrifying hit-and-run accident occured on Tuesday night near Gebanshah Circle in Wadhwan, Surendranagar, when a speeding car plowed into multiple vehicles, leaving three people injured. The driver, identified as Ranjit Kantilal Makwana, a resident of Memka village, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was promptly arrested by B-Division Police.
According to eyewitnesses, the car rammed into four vehicles, including a motorcycle carrying a man, woman, and a young girl, all of whom sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital via emergency services. The crash caused a chaotic scene, drawing large crowds of locals who detained the driver and alerted the police.
Sources suggest that bystanders caught the driver and forced him to undergo a breath test on the spot before handing him over to authorities. Meanwhile, allegations surfaced that bottles of imported liquor found in the car were hastily removed from the vehicle before police arrived, raising questions about potential tampering with evidence.
Police have reported the complaints of the injured and filed a case against the driver. Locals and victims’ families have demanded strict action, accusing the authorities of downplaying the incident. The accident also caused significant traffic congestion in the area, which police were able to clear only after considerable effort. The incident has sparked outrage across the community, with many calling for a thorough investigation and stronger charges against the drunk driver.
