Trump Hails Ceasefire and Claims Destruction of Iran’s Nuclear Sites

Washington – U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday his pride in halting the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, declaring it a “great honour” to have eliminated Iran’s nuclear facilities and capabilities before facilitating a ceasefire. In a Truth Social post, Trump stated that both nations were equally eager to end the hostilities, writing, “Both Israel and Iran wanted to stop the War, equally! It was my great honour to Destroy All Nuclear facilities & capability, and then, STOP THE WAR.
The conflict intensified on June 13 when Israel launched targeted strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. Tensions further escalated after Iran retaliated with attacks on U.S. military bases in Qatar and Israel, following U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Despite Trump’s ceasefire announcement, the Israeli Air Force conducted a limited strike on an Iranian radar site near Tehran, prompting Iran to launch two ballistic missiles at Israel.

In a conversation with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Israeli officials expressed gratitude for Trump’s decisive action against Iran’s nuclear program. Hegseth praised the Israeli Defense Forces for their role in the operation. Israel emphasized its commitment to upholding the ceasefire, provided Iran reciprocates.
The developments follow a series of military exchanges that raised fears of a broader regional conflict. Trump’s claims of neutralizing Iran’s nuclear capabilities have drawn global attention, with the ceasefire marking a critical moment in de-escalating tensions between the two nations.
