New Delhi, June 21, 2025 – The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered Air India to immediately relieve three senior officials, including a divisional vice president, from their roles in crew scheduling and rostering, according to sources. The directive, issued on June 20, 2025, follows the DGCA’s identification of significant deficiencies in the airline’s crew management processes.
The DGCA has pointed to a “systemic failure in crew scheduling, compliance monitoring, and internal accountability” as the basis for its action. The regulatory body has mandated that Air India, owned by the Tata Group, initiate internal disciplinary proceedings against the three officials without delay. This move reflects the DGCA’s commitment to upholding stringent safety and operational standards in the aviation sector.
