IND vs ENG TEST: Secret Weapon? Harshit Rana Joins India’s Squad for England Showdown

Fast bowler Harshit Rana has joined India’s Test team for the upcoming five-match series against England, starting June 20 at Headingley, Leeds. The 23-year-old Delhi pacer arrived in Leeds with the Shubman Gill-led squad after traveling from London, strengthening India’s bowling lineup.

Rana, previously part of the India A team, played in the first unofficial Test against England Lions in Canterbury. Although he debuted internationally in Australia last year, he was not initially included in the 18-man squad for the England series. To date, Rana has appeared in two Tests, five ODIs, and one T20I for India.

Ahead of the series, India’s sole warm-up was an intra-squad match against India A in Beckenham. The game provided crucial match practice for players like KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur, Dhruv Jurel, and Nitish Reddy, who traveled to the UK with the India A side.
