Two More Top Iranian Generals Killed By Israeli Strikes; Iran, Israel Launch Fresh Wave Of Airstrikes Today

New Delhi : Iran confirmed that its two high-ranking Iranian generals were killed in fresh Israeli strikes early on Saturday, as hostilities between the Middle East’s two biggest adversaries escalated. The fresh wave of airstrikes came a day after Israel launched its largest-ever offensive against Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, killing top military commanders, and destroying critical infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Israeli army launched a third round of airstrikes on Tehran, with explosions reported across several parts of the city.
General Gholamreza Mehrabi, deputy head of intelligence of the armed forces general staff, and General Mehdi Rabbani, deputy head of operations, were killed, according to state media. Iran also confirmed that its Fordo nuclear facility sustained limited damage following recent Israeli strikes, semi-official ISNA news agency said.
Iran’s assault, dubbed Operation True Promise , killed at least three people across Israel and injured around 34 others, as the missiles breached the country’s Iron Dome defence system. Israel’s Operation Rising Lion, which launched on Friday and continued on Saturday, killed at least 78 people, mostly civilians, and left over 320 injured.
Israel quickly launched another round of strikes on Tehran, with several explosions heard across the Iranian capital. According to local media reports, two projectiles struck Mehrabad airport, located near key Iranian leadership sites and home to an air force base housing fighter jets and transport aircraft. Flames were reported at the site. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that more is on the way, declaring that Israel’s efforts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear programme are just beginning.
