Local train services to be affected tomorrow due to Megablock

Commuters relying on Mumbai’s local train network should brace for significant disruptions this Sunday, June 15, 2025, as Central Railway and Western Railway have announced mega blocks across multiple lines for essential maintenance work. According to updates, the Western, Central, Harbour, and Transharbour lines will be affected, impacting thousands of daily passengers.
Central Railway will implement a mega block on the Central Line’s Up and Down slow lines between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vidyavihar from 10:55 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. During this period, Down slow line trains leaving CSMT from 10:48 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. will be rerouted to the Down fast line, stopping at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla before resuming on the slow line at Vidyavihar. Similarly, Up slow line trains departing Ghatkopar from 10:19 a.m. to 3:52 p.m. will switch to the Up fast line at Vidyavihar, halting at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, and Byculla, with expected delays of up to 15 minutes.
On the Harbour Line, services between CSMT and Bandra or Chunabhatti will be suspended from 11:10 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Down trains to Vashi, Belapur, or Panvel departing CSMT from 11:16 a.m. to 4:47 p.m., as well as services to Bandra or Goregaon from 10:48 a.m. to 4:43 p.m., will be canceled. Up trains from Panvel, Belapur, or Vashi to CSMT, running from 9:53 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., and those from Goregaon or Bandra to CSMT from 10:45 a.m. to 5:13 p.m., will also be halted. To ease the inconvenience, special local trains will operate between CSMT and Kurla, as well as Kurla and Panvel, during the block. Harbour Line passengers can travel via the Main Line and Western Railway from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Transharbour Line will face a block between Thane and Vashi or Nerul from 11:10 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., suspending Up services toward Thane from Panvel between 11:02 a.m. and 3:53 p.m., and Down services toward Panvel from Thane between 10:01 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. Special services will run between Thane and Vashi or Nerul to mitigate disruptions.
Western Railway will conduct a five-hour jumbo block on the Up and Down fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central from 10:35 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. All fast line trains will operate on slow lines during this period, leading to cancellations of some suburban services and short terminations or reversals of certain Churchgate trains at Bandra or Dadar.
No blocks are scheduled for the Uran Line. Authorities urge passengers to check train schedules and plan their journeys in advance to avoid inconvenience. These maintenance blocks, as noted, are critical for ensuring the safety and reliability of Mumbai’s extensive railway network.
