Covid Cases Continue To Rise In Bhuj; 6 New Infections Reported

Rajkot: A 55-year-old man from Rajkot has died after battling Covid infection for four days, marking the first fatality in the city during the current wave of cases. With this, Gujarat’s total active Covid cases have crossed the 1,100 mark.

The deceased had been receiving treatment at Rajkot Civil Hospital after initially being admitted to a private hospital. He had been exhibiting Covid symptoms for four days. According to hospital sources, the patient also had hypertension and was recently diagnosed with diabetes.

Covid cases in Rajkot continue to rise steadily. On Monday, nine new cases were reported, six men and three women, bringing the city’s total tally to 116. However, there is a positive note: seven patients recovered and were declared Covid-free today, highlighting the effectiveness of ongoing treatments.

According to the latest state health department update (as of June 9), Gujarat has 1,109 active Covid cases. Among these, 33 patients are hospitalized, while 1,076 are receiving outpatient treatment. So far, 106 people have been discharged after recovery. Yesterday alone, 235 new cases were recorded across the state.

In Rajkot, with today’s recoveries, the total number of recovered patients has reached 61. As a result, the number of active cases currently under treatment in the city has come down to 53. Of these, 50 patients are recovering at home in isolation, while three are admitted to Civil Hospital. Most patients in Rajkot are experiencing mild symptoms and are recovering at home, while only those with serious symptoms require hospitalization.

In response to the rising cases, Rajkot authorities have intensified precautionary measures. Wearing masks in public is now mandatory, and people are being urged to maintain social distancing. Officials are promoting regular sanitization of public spaces and encouraging citizens to avoid crowded areas.

The health department is continuing aggressive testing and contact tracing efforts. Containment zones are being declared in areas with higher infection rates, and movement restrictions have been put in place to prevent further spread.

The number of Covid-19 cases in Bhuj city continues to rise steadily. Today, six new cases have been reported, including three women and three men. With these new infections, the total number of active cases in the district has increased to 24.
