Chandola Lake Transformed After Mega-Demolition; Before & After Videos Surface

2000 Tons Of Debris Being Cleared Off On A Daily Basis

Since the last few days, a demolition was going on at the Chandola Lake. As the demolition was taking place on a large scale, it was termed as a mega-demolition. Around 12,000 illegal encroachments have been demolished near the Chandola Lake.

Prior to the demolition, the area was full of huts, houses, and illegal structures. All these structures were razed as a part of the demolition undertaken by the administration and authorities. Recently, videos and drone shots of the changed appearance of Chandola Lake post-demolition have surfaced. The area looks neat and clean, free from any encroachments.

Now, after the demolition, work is going on to deepen the lake, as the debris is being cleared off. Beautification projects are also underway. The AMC is using 14 JCB machines, 100 trucks, and Hitachi machines to clear 2000 tons of debris on a daily basis.

On the other hand, a boundary wall will be constructed around the premises so that any encroachments do not take place in the future. Simultaneously, water will be let into the lake, as informed by the officials. Additionally, a tree plantation drive will take place prior to the onset of the monsoon, as a part of the project. The waste of this debris will be utilized by the AMC to make different products. Likewise, the soil extracted from the lake will be used for afforestation projects.
