Jaishankar Issues Stern Warning to Pakistan on Terrorism and Nuclear Threats

NEW DELHI: During a visit to Berlin, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar delivered a resolute message to Pakistan, emphasizing India’s unwavering stance against terrorism and nuclear coercion.

Speaking at a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Friday, Jaishankar outlined three key points in response to recent tensions sparked by the Pahalgam terror attack.
Jaishankar reiterated India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism, stating that the nation will not be swayed by Pakistan’s nuclear posturing. He emphasized that India’s approach to Pakistan will remain strictly bilateral, ruling out any third-party mediation in resolving disputes. Additionally, he expressed gratitude for Germany’s support, noting that Chancellor Friedrich Merz had shown solidarity with India’s actions following the Pahalgam incident. “India values Germany’s understanding that every nation has a right to defend itself against terrorism,” Jaishankar said.

The minister’s remarks come in the wake of India’s military response to the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, which heightened tensions with Pakistan. Jaishankar’s statements underscored India’s commitment to addressing cross-border terrorism decisively while maintaining diplomatic channels solely with Pakistan.
