Banas Dairy To Increase Milk Price By ₹25 Per Kg Fat From June 1

Ahmedabad: In an important announcement for dairy farmers, Banas Dairy will increase the milk procurement rate by ₹25 per kg starting June 1. The decision was announced by Shankar Chaudhary, Chairman of Banas Dairy and Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, during a Milk Day and Women Awareness event held in Sanadar, Diyodar.

The revised rate is expected to benefit lakhs of dairy farmers across Gujarat. With this increase, farmers are likely to earn an additional ₹25 crore every month. Despite the hike in procurement rates, Banas Dairy confirmed that there will be no increase in the price of milk for consumers. This suggests the benefit will go directly to the farmers without affecting end-users.

Shankar Chaudhary stated that the dairy is committed to the welfare of farmers and is continuously working to improve their income. He emphasized that the decision reflects Banas Dairy’s farmer-first approach.

Banas Dairy is one of the largest dairy cooperatives in Asia, with over 3.76 lakh active members and 1.8 lakh shareholders spread across more than 1,200 villages. Along with payment for milk, farmers also receive bonuses from the dairy’s annual profits, making it a strong model of rural cooperation and empowerment.
