YouTube Upload Not Working? Creators Worldwide Hit By Widespread Glitch As Complaints Cross 100 Reports

Video creators across the globe are facing problems uploading content to YouTube, with complaints rising sharply on Wednesday afternoon and quickly crossing the 100-report mark on outage-tracking platforms.

Disruption reports stayed low for most of the day before spiking after 3 PM, pointing to a sudden, large-scale technical failure affecting multiple regions at the same time. Users attempting to upload videos were met with the error message: “Oops, something went wrong.” The problem appeared across both desktop browsers and mobile apps.

Uploads hit, viewing unaffected

The glitch appears limited to creator tools. Video streaming, playback, and content loading continued to work normally for most viewers, suggesting YouTube’s core viewing infrastructure remained intact while the upload and publishing systems ran into trouble.

Outage tracking data showed a slight easing after the initial spike, indicating technical teams may already be working on a fix. In the meantime, frustrated creators took to X, flooding timelines with screenshots and accounts of failed uploads.

What could be behind it

YouTube had not issued an official statement at the time of writing. Such disruptions on large platforms are typically linked to backend server maintenance, temporary overload in upload processing systems, or regional network routing issues. Partial outages where specific features fail while others continue working normally are not uncommon on platforms of YouTube’s scale.

Viewers can continue watching content without interruption. Creators are advised to wait while the platform works to restore full upload functionality.
