Rahul Vaidya Turns Down Rs 50 Lakh Offer To Perform in Turkey, Says We Have To Stand By Our Nation

Amid calls for boycott Turkey, Azerbaijan, Singer Rahul Vaidya, revealed that he turned down a whopping Rs 50 lakh offer to perform at a wedding in Antalya, Turkey, scheduled for July 5, 2025. His decision came in response to Turkey’s support for Pakistan amid the escalating India-Pakistan tensions.
Speaking to ETimes, Rahul said, “The offer was lucrative — they were paying me Rs 50 lakh. But I told them that no work, no money, and no fame can surpass the interest of the country. They even offered me more, but I made it clear that it wasn’t about the money. This issue is far more important than that. It’s not about me as an individual, it’s about the nation. And we have to stand by our nation.”
Rahul further stated that he has no interest in visiting a country that is an enemy of India and disrespects it. Expressing gratitude, Rahul said that whatever he is today is because of his country and fellow countrymen. “Anyone who goes against the interests of my country and countrymen will not be entertained,” he added unwaveringly.
Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), representing workers, technicians, artists, and professionals of the Indian film industry, announced a complete ban on Turkey for all film shoots and cultural collaborations, citing the safety of Indian citizens and the nation’s interests as their top priority.
Turkish producers, production houses, artists, and other creative professionals have also been blacklisted and will no longer be permitted to work within the Indian entertainment industry. AICWA has further shared that all existing contracts or agreements with Turkish entities be thoroughly reviewed and, wherever feasible, terminated with immediate effect.
