ISKCON Temple in Ahmedabad Transformed into Gokul-Vrindavan with 900 Kg Imported Flowers; Over 1.25 Lakh Devotees Attend Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations

Amid nationwide Krishna Janmashtami festivities, the ISKCON temple in Ahmedabad witnessed an overwhelming spiritual atmosphere as lakhs of devotees gathered for darshan of Lord Krishna. From early morning, long queues of devotees thronged the temple premises, which had been decorated with 900 kg of flowers imported from Thailand, South Africa, and other countries. The sanctum sanctorum, adorned with divine artistry and special attire for Radha-Krishna brought from Vrindavan, recreated the essence of Gokul and Vrindavan.

Unique Floral Decoration and Divine Attire
According to ISKCON Communication Director Haresh Gohil, five varieties of orchids were imported from Thailand and three types of anthuriums from South Africa for the celebration. Along with these, carnations, Dutch roses, gypsy, chrysanthemums, tuberoses, and daisies were used in large quantities. Using these flowers, intricate floral artworks such as peacocks, Garuda, conches, lotuses, and bows were created inside the sanctum. The attire for the deities (Vaagha) was specially sourced from Vrindavan for the grand occasion.

Over 1.25 Lakh Devotees Offered Prayers
Since morning, massive crowds of devotees gathered to witness the unique darshan. By evening, more than 1.25 lakh devotees had visited the temple. As in previous years, Gujarat Chief Minister is also expected to visit the temple for darshan and rituals.

The celebrations include a Maha Abhishek scheduled at 11:30 pm, performed with panchamrit, saffron, Ganga water, and juices of various fruits, followed by a Maha Aarti at 12:30 am.

The deities were also offered over 600 food items, including international cuisines like Mexican, Italian, Thai, and Chinese, along with traditional Indian dishes.

To manage the massive footfall, the temple authorities made extensive arrangements for tight security and ample parking facilities within the premises.
