Mumbai: Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has shown the importance of “ek chutki sindoor”, Union Home & Cooperation Minister and BJP stalwart Amit Shah said on Tuesday in Mumbai.
“Under Modi’s leadership, Operation Sindoor was undertaken. We have shown (to the world) the importance of ‘ek chutki sindoor’,” Shah said referring to the offensive against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack on tourists during which 26 people were killed by asking their religion.
“For our mothers, sisters and daughter, sindoor is important,” Shah said wrapping up his three-day visit to Maharashtra.
Shah’s statement was not only for the global community but also aimed at some of the opposition parties which have questioned various aspects related to the Pahalgam incident, Operation Sindoor and the ceasefire.
Shah’s statement came at the 150th anniversary celebration of Shree Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Madhav Baug in Bhuleshwar area of Mumbai. Talking about the strikes inside Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir, he said, “We made our nation proud by launching precision strike on the terror camps. Only Modi could do this. Those who wanted to disrupt law and order in our country have now been sent back in a way that they are sobbing in their blankets.”
Hailing Modi and the BJP-led NDA dispensation, he said that 11 years will be written in golden letters.
“Modi has completed 11 years as the Prime Minister. The son of Gujarat is committed to the nation’s development, economic growth and national security. Those who violated national security have been taught a lesson,” he said.
