Young Couple Found Shot Dead Inside Parked Car In Sector 39, Murder-Suicide Angle Under Probe

New Delhi : Delhi-NCR woke up to the day of love on Saturday to the grisly murder of a couple whose bodies were found inside a parked car in Noida. The bodies of Sumit and Rekha, both in their early 20s, were found with gunshot wounds in their heads in a Tata Altroz near Noida Sector 39.

Police said a pistol was found in the hand of Sumit, who was found dead in the driver’s seat of the car. The car was locked from the inside. Sources said the initial investigation suggested that Sumit first shot Rekha before turning the pistol on himself. Cartridges were also found in the car. While Rekha was a resident of Noida Sector 58, Sumit lived in Delhi’s Trilokpuri. Both were missing from their homes since Friday. Their families had filed a missing persons report, police said.

A note left behind by Sumit said he and Rekha had been in a relationship for the last 15 years. He claimed that Rekha had promised to marry him. However, he recently found out that she was going to marry someone else. While police first suspected it to be a suicide, it later turned out to be a case of a love affair gone awry.

In a statement, police said the families of the deceased have been informed. Senior police officers and a forensic team inspected the scene of the incident. Sumit and Rekha had known each other for about 15 years. They had attended school together. Rekha was a frequent visitor to Sumit’s home. They were also soon to be married. The family alleges that the girl’s family misled the girl and created deeply negative feelings for him in her.

Furthermore, at 3:39 pm yesterday, Sumit sent a message to the girl’s mobile phone, stating that he was going to commit suicide. He then left home in his car around 3 pm on Friday. When he did not return by nightfall, the family began search for him. Their bodies were found in the car at around 1 pm on Saturday.
