US Struck Iran School Where 175, Including Girls, Died? What Role Did Israel Play In Minab School Attack?

Tehran : The bombing of an Iranian girls’ school in Minab on February 28 has defined the human cost of the ongoing US-Israeli military action in Iran, which is now into its 10th day. Images of the girls’ funeral on March 3 were shown on Iranian state television. Their small coffins were draped with Iranian flags and passed from a truck across a large crowd towards the grave site. These visuals have not only evoked global condemnation of the bombing but also intensified calls for an international probe.

While denying bombing the school, the Trump administration has pinned the blame on the Iranian regime while saying that the bombing remains under investigation. When the New York Times asked President Trump on March 7 whether the United States had bombed the school, he said, “In my opinion and based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran. They’re very inaccurate with their munitions. On the same day, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth told reporters that the only side that targets civilians is Iran.

Two US officials told news agency Reuters on March 5 that the US forces may have been responsible for the apparent strike on the school. There is video evidence pointing to a US involvement in the attack. Independent analysis of a new video of the strike by OSINT website Bellingcat and the New York Times shows the school was likely hit by a US Tomahawk missile. The video was released by Iran’s Mehr agency on Sunday.

Video analysis by Bellingcat & The New York Times shows that the missile struck a building described as a medical clinic in the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) naval base. The video shows that plumes of smoke and dust were billowing from the area around the school, even before the missile strikes on the naval base. According to the New York Times, the timeline of the strike suggests that the school was hit around the same time as the base.
