
Ujjain : A sudden fire broke out in the generator coach of the Bilaspur-Bikaner Express in Ujjan of Madhya Pradesh today. The accident took place near Tarana Road station. After being informed about the incident, the fire was brought under control by the administration, while no one was injured in the accident, but the coach was damaged.

The help of rural and railway employees was taken to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is not known yet, while an investigation is underway. The smoke and fire in the train scared the passengers. It is said that before the train was stopped, people tried to jump out by breaking the windows. The train was going from Bikaner to Bilaspur. Sources said that when the train reached Tarana Road station near Ujjain at around 5.30 pm, a fire broke out in the generator coach, after which the sound of an explosion was also heard.
After the video went viral on social media, people expressed concern about the safety of passengers on the railways. Earlier, one person died and three others sustained injuries when the Bangalore-Kamakhya AC Superfast Express derailed near Nergundi Station, 10 km from Cuttack, in Odisha on March 30, 2025. The deceased was identified as Suvankar Roy, 22. One female passenger suffered grievous injury while two male passengers were being treated for simple injuries, the railway said in a statement.
