Turkish Connection In Ahmedabad Plane Crash?: Here’s What Turkey Has To Say
Claims Speculate Turkey's Involvement In Maintenance Of Plane That Crashed

The horrific Air India plane crash has stirred the entire nation. Except for 1 passenger, all those who were on board lost their lives. Worse still, the plane crashed into a medical college hostel, further increasing the casualties. Following the crash, rescue operations were started immediately. Simultaneously, investigations are also going on regarding the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner involved in the accident, and what circumstances led to the crash.
No concrete reasons of the crash have been revealed yet. It is being speculated that the plane crashed due to engine failure. On the other hand, a Turkish connection has emerged in the case, specifically related to the plane’s maintenance. The Turkish link to the crash has ignited discussions, especially after the fact that Turkey had expressed its support to Pakistan during the India-Pakistan tensions.
Apparently, a company named Turkish Technic is involved in the maintenance of airplanes of several countries, including India. Its customers include airlines Air India and Indigo, among others. To be precise, operations including maintenance, technological assistance, rehabilitation, and retrofit of the Boeing 777 were conducted by Turkish Technic at Turkey.

As debates on this supposed Turkish connection intensify, Turkey has released an official statement regarding the issue. As per the statement, the maintenance of the Boeing 787-8 plane which was involved in the crash was not in the hands of Turkish Technic. All such claims made on this matter are false.
The statement further clarifies that according to the agreements made between Air India and Turkish Technic in 2024-25, maintenance services are provided only for B777-type aircraft. Maintenance services have not been conducted on any Air India aircraft of this type to date by Turkish Technic. The company also stated that such claims constitute disinformation and are made to manipulate public opinion regarding Turkey-India relations.
Interestingly, the aviation service provider company claimed of being aware of the company that performed the most recent maintenance on the crashed aircraft. However, in order to avoid further speculation, the company refrained from making a statement on the matter.
Concluding the statement, Turkish Technic shared the grief of the Indian people over the tragic plane crash. The plane crash killed 241 people who were in the flight, including the 12 crew members. Only 1 passenger survived. In addition, several people who were present in the hostel mess when the plane crashed there also died, whereas others were left injured.
