New Delhi : PM Narendra Modi told Russian President Vladimir Putin that India was not neutral and was on the side of peace in the Ukraine war, reiterating the stance that he told Donald Trump earlier this year. PM Modi praised Putin as a visionary leader and underscored that this “is an era of peace”.
“India is not neutral. India is on the side of peace. This is the era of peace… I am fully confident that with the efforts being made in recent days, the world will once again return to the direction of peace,” PM Modi said.

Later, both leaders will address a joint press conference and at 7 pm, President Murmu will host a dinner for her Russian counterpart. Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Russian President Vladimir Putin during their bilateral talks at Hyderabad House that he believes Russia and Ukraine will soon be on the path to peace. India is not neutral but stands firmly on the side of peace, said PM Modi. The remark came as the two leaders met for high-level discussions during Putin’s visit to India.
