Russia Would Agree To Ceasefire Plan Drawn Up By American And Ukrainian Officials Says US President  Trump

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he hoped Russia would agree to a ceasefire plan drawn up by American and Ukrainian officials. Ukraine had accepted a 30-day ceasefire proposed by the United States, following critical peace talks between the two sides in Saudi Arabia.

Talking to reporters, Trump said he would invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy back to the White House. Trump said he hoped a total ceasefire could be achieved in the three-year war in the coming days. He said he thinks he will talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin about it this week. Moreover, he said we have to go to Russia and hopefully President Putin will agree to that also.

Trump has said that I will talk to Vladimir Putin, yeah…Hopefully, he will also agree and I really think that woulld be 75 per cent of the way. Now we have to go to Russia and hopefully President Putin will agree to that also,” Trump said. Meanwhile Zelenskyy wrote the position of his country remains clear on peace

Zelenskyy shared a self-recorded video and said Ukraine was ready to accept the ceasefire proposal and that it was up to the United States to convince Russia to do the same. Zelenskyy wrote in a lengthy X post that I received a report from our delegation on their meeting with the American team in Saudi Arabia. The discussion lasted most of the day and was good and constructive—our teams were able to discuss many important details.

He asserted, our position remains absolutely clear: Ukraine has been seeking peace from the very first second of this war, and we want to do everything to achieve it as soon as possible and in a reliable way—so that war does not return.
