PM Modi’s Devotional Visit to Mukhwa Temple: Prays to Goddess Ganga

Uttarakhand : Prime Minister Narendra modi arrived in Uttarakhand on Thursday that is on 6th march 2025, PM Modi was received by the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand at the airport in Dehradun.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Mukhimath temple in Uttarakhand located at Uttarkashi district. PM Modi performed the rituals and sought blessings from the Goddess Ganga, with the spectators gathering to welcome him.
The temple is located in Mukhwa village, the temple that serves as the temporary home for the idol of Goddess Ganga when the Gangotri temple shuts during the winter months , as the region expects heavy snowfall during the season. The Mukhimath Temple is considered as the abode winter seat of river Ganga. He even flagged off several developmental projects in the Himalayan hill state as well as addressed a gathering at a public function. The Prime Minister performed puja during his visit to the temple.
According to the information and statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office it is said that he will also flag off a trek and a bike rally later before he addresses a gathering in Harsil. Prime minister Narendra Modi even tweeted about how excited he was to visit Uttarakhand, he stated” I am very excited to visit the winter abode of the pure”Maa Ganga” in Mukhwa. This holy place is famous all over the world for its spiritual significance and amazing beauty. Not only this, it is a unique example of our resolve of ‘ heritage as well as development’. The BJP led Uttarakhand government has initiated a Winter Tourism programme this year. He said that the programme will not only encourage religious tourism but also many local business , including homestays , will get opportunities to flourish. He even tweeted saying” We are committed to further strengthen the economy of the state by promoting tourism in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.’
