PM Modi Convenes Urgent Meeting After Deadly Pahalgam Attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday morning at the airport after returning from Saudi Arabia to address the aftermath of a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, officials confirmed. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also attended the discussion.
On Tuesday, terrorists targeted the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam in south Kashmir, killing at least 26 people and wounding several others, according to authorities. The victims included two foreign nationals from the UAE and Nepal, as well as two local residents, officials reported.
Modi abbreviated his Saudi Arabia visit to return to India, while Home Minister Amit Shah traveled to Jammu and Kashmir to oversee security responses to the attack, which marks the deadliest assault on tourists in the region in recent years.
