PM Modi Inaugurates Vantara, Shares Joyful Experience Feeding Lion Cubs and Giraffes
Jamnagar : PM Modi inaugurated and visited Vantara, an animal rescue centre, a conservation and rehabilitation centre situated at Gujarat’s Jamnagar district.
The Vantara has over 2,000 species and more than 1.5 lakh rescued, endangered and threatened animals. The Prime minister visited and examined the various facilities and had engaged directly with the rehabilitated animals during the visit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted and even fed several cubs, including Asiatic lions, a white lion, a rare clouded leopard and a Caracal. PM Modi even observed the advanced veterinary facilities, including MRI , CT scans, and ICUs along with the specialised departments such as Wildlife Anaesthesia , Cardiology , Nephrology, Endoscopy, Dentistry, and Other Internal medicine. The White Lion cub was fed by PM Modi , the white lion cub was born in Vantara itself after its rescued mother was brought to the centre. He even witnessed an Asiatic Lion’s scan and visited the Operation Theatre where surgeons were treating a Leopard injured in a highway accident.
The Vantara conservation programmes focus on species like the Asiatic lion, Snow Leopard, and one horned Rhinoceros. PM patted an Okapi, came in contact with Chimpanzees which were rescued from a facility . He also saw a large python, unique two-headed snake, two-headed turtle, leopard cubs , elephants . He even released parrots which had ben rescued at the centre. PM Modi interacted with the doctors, staff and workers who are looking at the facilities at the centre.
The Prime Minister even wished on World Wildlife Day, stating ” Today, on World Wildlife day, lets reiterate out commitment to protect and preserve the incredible biodiversity of our planet. Every species plays a vital role lets safeguard their future for generations to come ! We also take pride in India’s contributions towards preserving and protecting wildlife”.
