Pahalgam Terror Attack: Home Minister Pays Tribute at Wreath-Laying Ceremony for Victims

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid solemn tribute to the 26 victims of a devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, during a wreath-laying ceremony held at the Police Control Room in Srinagar on Wednesday, officials reported. Shah vowed that those responsible for the heinous act would face justice.
Joining the Home Minister in honoring the deceased were Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also offered their condolences, according to officials. Shah later met with the families of the victims and other survivors, reassuring them that security forces would relentlessly pursue the attackers.
Arriving in Srinagar shortly after the attack on Tuesday night, Shah was briefed on the situation by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat. He also led a security review meeting attended by the Lieutenant Governor.
The bodies of the 26 victims, predominantly tourists, were transported to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Srinagar early Wednesday morning before being moved to the Police Control Room, an official stated. The attack, which took place on Tuesday at Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam, marks one of the deadliest assaults on civilians in Kashmir in recent years.
