NHAI’s 4 New Guinness World Records Mark New Era For India’s Infrastructure

New Delhi : Union Minister Nitin Gadkari hailed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Concessionaire, Rajpath Infracon Pvt. Ltd. for creating 4 Guinness World Records for its ongoing construction work on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor of National Highway-544G.

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the minister congratulated NHAI and the Concessionaire, Rajpath Infracon Pvt. Ltd. for embarking 4 Guinness World Records for their continuous Bituminous Concrete paving across Package-2 and Package-3 of the 6-lane Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor.

Nitin Gadkari said that it was under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that has led to the nation’s commitment for building world-class highways and setting new global benchmarks in infrastructure development. Due to advanced technology and firm quality standards reflecting India’s rising engineering excellence and execution capability Nitin Gadkari shared this heartfelt joy via social media post on X.

The six-lane Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor has been designed for a safe, high-speed, and scenic travel experience with 343 km long. It is a 21 km long section of forest friendly corridor pass with 17 interchanges, 10 wayside amenities and a 5.3 km long tunnel.

At the beginning of the month, the NHAI already made 2 Guinness World Records near Andhra Pradesh’s Puttaparthi. The first record was for the longest continuous laying of bituminous concrete, that covered 28.89 lane km or a 3-lane wide 9.63 km long section within 24 hours whereas the second record was created for continuous laying of the highest quantity of 10,655 metric tons of bituminous concrete within 24 hours.

The six-lane National Highway project on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor set both marks for the first time in history. In addition to these records, 2 additional Guinness World Records were created on January 11. The first included continuous laying of 57,500 metric tons of bituminous concrete and the next record was for continuous paving of 156 lane km or 3-lane wide 52 km long section.
